"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)
As a way to practice what we preach, we are going to have what we are calling 2:42 Sunday. This will be on Sunday, December 1st during our worship service time at Santa Fe Trail. Our worship service will be centered around engaging these practices in Acts 2:42 together with the focus being on a shared brunch together.
Here is what you need to know:
We will have a sign up form for all of the food to ensure that we have enough food for everyone. Please plan on bringing something from the sign up below to share.
We will provide a way to label gluten and dairy free options for those with dietary restrictions.
If you have a special family or cultural dish that you would like to share please bring it.
We will gather in the gym around tables in groups of 7-10. There will not be assigned seats so feel free to gather with anyone you like. Please go out of your way to welcome and invite others to sit with you, especially those who are looking for a table.
We will have some guided discussion questions for each table designed to foster conversation and community. We promise we will not be weird...well, at least not really weird.
We will have all ages present for this time so no Kids Ministry classes that Sunday. There will be a section in the gym where little kids can sit on mats to play and eat if parents need that.
We will have a time to sing together briefly and we will partake in communion together at some point in the service.
If you have a child who needs a high chair of some kind then you should plan to bring one.
Be intentional about gathering with people that you may not know as well or at all. The idea is to encourage and foster relational connections
